Dear Strikers families

We hope this update finds you all well. We’ve loved watching everyone on the pitch this season; we have over 75 kiddos playing fall soccer, from ages 2-12.

We are appreciative of all the time donated by our coaches, and of all our families putting in the miles every week getting kids to practices and games. We see you!

You’ve all probably noticed we’ve got some amazing modified and high school soccer programs in the area—this is evidence of all of the hours put in on the part of parents, coaches, and club admin the past several years. What an awesome thing to witness as our Strikers age up!

1. Club news:

  • Earlier this year the Anderson family donated their time and talent to help us coordinate officially becoming a 501c3, opening up more avenues for funding! We received grant funding in the spring that you’ll see put to use shortly to beef up our storage and organization of equipment at the fields. Thank you Andersons!
  • As you’ve all likely seen we went live with a new registration system, GotSport, to match the system used by our governing body. This significantly decreased the time needed to register players etc. It also included a new communication app some teams have been rolling out. Up next: website!

2. Volunteer help needed:

We’re always looking for volunteers to coach, assistant coach, and serve on the board in any capacity. If there is a specific project or niche you’d like to see the club grow in, and would like to donate your time, please reach out (schuylerstrikers2023@gmail.com)! Specifically though, we need a couple of individuals to join the board ASAP in the following two roles, if we are going to keep the club running:

  • Field Coordinator – this individual will:
    • Coordinate schedule of fields with coaches, fire department, and league as needed
    • Organize field maintenance (mowing/lining, as well as assurance that goals/sand bags/flags are in good shape).
    • Order porta-potties
    • Be listed as the field contact with BCSA (our outdoor league)
  • Uniform Management – this individual will:
    • Order uniforms each season for those needing them and get them to coaches/players
  • Website – we need someone to help us build and maintain our website!

3. Indoor Soccer:

  • You will begin to see registration rolling out for indoor seasons this coming week. Dates and particulars of each will vary dependent on age group.

Again, we’re super appreciative to the village keeping this club up and running – cheers, and Go Strikers!

Coveney – President, Liaison with leagues
Shannon – Treasurer, Registrar
Eric – BOD member, High School Programming
Justine – Tiny Lil Strikers coordinator
